Thanks Zilong! Looks good.
As for our regular 3 PM meeting tomorrow, unfortunately I won’t be able to make it this week due to a one-time conflict. However, that shouldn’t be a show-stopper if people still want to meet to discuss, just let me know. If not, let’s talk next
week in more detail.
Cheers,
Matt

Hi all,_______________________________________________
I just wanted to remind you this Wed. at 10 am BNL time we will have the discussion with Christian and maybe a few other PYTHIA folks (connection details below).
Since we won’t have our regular meeting before, I propose the following:
- I will present more-or-less the same material as used for the cold QCD PWG meeting, except for jet material. (Base tune + forward rapidity observations)- Zilong, if you don’t mind, could you also present your jet 510 GeV studies and add in the 200 GeV plots from Dmitry? (Jet studies)
I think we have a nice discussion in the cold QCD PWG meeting and received some good feedback from our collaborations (summarized below). I think a few of these questions we can discuss with Christian too along.
- Why Monash? Could we try some more recent LHC tunes as a starting point (also see PDF point below)?- Having separate mid-rapidity and forward-rapidity tunes can be problematic. Can we try (simultaneously) tuning other parameters, e.g., coupling to ISR which will modify forward observables, or intrinsic kT?- Observation of PYTHIA 8 w/ NNPDF2.3 not getting jet cross-section is not too supposing (compared to CTEQ6L1). Other LHC tunes with newer PDF sets might be a better starting point.
Please let me know if there are other things to discuss or add. I will prepare slides and send tomorrow.
Cheers,Matt
