Rough efficiency plots resulting from the loss of those two RDOs are attached as phi vs. eta for global tracks from ~1500 Run 19 AuAu200 events. First for all global tracks, and then with a 25 hit requirement.

For all globals, we can see that there isn't much impact for eta < 1 (the loss of hits doesn't keep the tracks from being found), but there's up to ~50% loss for tracks going through that sector at high eta where the tracks are shorter to begin with.

For the 25+ hit globals, we can see that the losses extend over a much larger range of eta because tracks drop below the cut on number of hits, with a larger efficiency drop than I expected. I'll investigate a little more and make a blog post.

iii) Gene, what is an estimated loss of efficiency for tracks in sector 8 with these two RDOs out? We ned some estimate on the loss of physics f this is not resolved.

....I seem to remember a similar study being done before, but I don't remember where it is nor whether it was pre- iTPC. What I can do relatively quickly is take some Run 19 AuAu200 data and process a few hundred events with and without those two RDOs and look at the distributions of lost tracks. Yuri may actually be more efficiently set up for a such a study than me, but I understand he's got plenty else on his plate.

Carrying those inefficiencies through to impact on loss of physics would likely require PWG/analyzer involvement.
