Hi NSF L2 managers,

 

This is just a reminder that as part of the request to NSF seeking approval of the COVID BCP, we will, as always, need a justification for your part of the BCP. That means:

 

• NSF is getting fussier, so having a brief argument of how this BCP will allow you to better manage the project (rather than just carrying the variance without a BCP), so merely saying it improves the SPI is not sufficient, but rather how it tangibly improves your ability to manage the subsystem would be valuable.
• A summary description of how COVID impacted your tasks for this BCP (lab closures, social distancing, efficiencies, vendor covid delays, etc)
• A detailed description of the costs at the WBS level 3 tasks and how those costs arose from COVID impacts.

 

Attached is the justification we sent for the last BCP in case that is helpful to you. Basically, NSF wants to know how COVID specifically affected your tasks, rather than just the summary they see in the BCP form which does not have that information. They want to what they are approving.

 

Send you individual justifications to me BY COB Monday Feb 28 so that I can compile them and send the packet off to NSF once the CCB has approved the BCP on Tuesday.
