Hi Andy,

As you can see below, Gustaaf is proposing to include the SMU and NYU f/w funding through the end of the project as part of the rebaseline work. This is very good news, since we could get it approved soon by the PO and just have the NSF approval for this expanded scope as part of the overall rebaseline review. It does, however, make more urgent my request to you to prepare the tasklists and get them to Jenn.
As we discussed previously, I propose to extend the efforts through the rebaselined date when the main f/w work at U Az is scheduled to be finished, which is Oct. 2026. To present the pre-BCP, I think all we really have to have ready by 1/31 is the cost, which is basically "level of effort" for Lloyd at SMU and for your EE at NYU, plus some travel. I am checking with TDAQ, but for now assume 50% of Lloyd on LAr. A week later, we would need the full tasklists in P6 already. Can you make that timetable?

Regards,
John

Hello John, Hong, Stephanie and Jinlong,

When we added FW contributions from NYU, Stanford and SMU, we only put in 2 years, to keep costs down and make sure this was effective. Before rebaselining, we should extend this work to the full expected contribution where we’re pretty sure this will be good for the project. (This seems clear for Stanford and SMU, we’ve seen less from NYU as it’s more of a support job, so please let us know what you want to do there.) Given the time needed for simulation, etc, we should implement this in the next ~two weeks, so:

-pre-BCP presentation at 1/31 CCB
-full BCP presentation at 2/7 CCB

Can you work with your L3s and ICs to set up the task lists etc.? (Just FYI, the funds basically come from the “unused HTT” pot.)

Thanks,

Your friendly PO
