Hi Giordon,

You will need to send an X509 proxy with your job.

To do so, you can do a 'localSetupFAX' (I think this gets both the appropriate XRootD and VOMS tools), run 'voms-proxy-init -voms atlas', transfer the resulting /tmp/x509up_u`id -u` file with your job, and set the environment variable X509_USER_PROXY=relative/path/to/the/proxy/on/the/remote/end in your job scripts. xrdcp should be able to then use the proxy file for authenticated access, and I assume ROOT will as well.

How will this affect Condor jobs requiring XRootD access to faxbox?

Hello,

We believe this is now working. XRootD access to Faxbox will need to now be authenticated via X509.

If you have a valid usercert and userkey pair in your ~/.globus directory, this should happen automatically when you xrdcp, assuming XRootD has been set up from ALRB.

Let us know if you run into any problems.

Thanks,
Lincoln
