  Dear Nikolai,

  Thank you for your feedback.

Before I comment on (1), can you please elaborate a bit on what exactly do you mean by "And there is a sense to rely on expertise from knowledgeable people which made it in STAR and (s)PHENIX", in practical terms?

Concerning (2), this initiative is pretty much welcome. Not sure how complicated such a system should be this time, but we will hopefully gain some experience. Both dark boxes we are going to use have provisions to connect 1/4" flexible tubes, as you know (one of them will actually be based on a setup shipped to Yale). Please coordinate with Prashanth, who is responsible for this pfRICH WP in general, and Bob who usually was assembling a gas system for MPGDs in all our recent beam tests. Let's come up with a scheme how your existing additional equipment can be connected to the infrastructure at FTBF as I recall it (gas bottles in a hut outside, pipes to the reducer / flowmeter equipment outside of the experimental area, pipes to MT6.2C, our existing gas patch panel with another set of cutoff valves, reducers and rotameters ). Bob can correct me and / or provide further details. I believe MT6.2C has two gas lines available. Concerning responsibilities, we should also think a bit about redundancy. To give an example, even if Bob makes it to Fermilab for 3-5 days just for the installation, we certainly need somebody else taking care about both the GEM tracker and the pfRICH gas systems during the beam time.

  Regards,
    Alexander.

Dear All,
just a couple comments after the gas system was discussed.
1. In all large scale experiments there is a "special" team / experts to design, construct, utilize, control the gas system(s) for all detectors
So, it is rather early to discuss exactly what should be done.
And there is a sense to rely on expertise from knowledgeable people which made it in STAR and (s)PHENIX.
2. For the test beam we have (at Yale) ready to be used gas system with all needed parts including gas quality control (H2O, O2). We can  take a responsibility if such a decision is taken.
Best regards, Nikolai.

  Dear All,

We will have our DSC meeting tomorrow Thursday February 8th starting at 12pm EST:

, with the vessel / mirror PED work updates, and the gas system design discussion as main agenda topics.

Also, we were asked to request space at BNL for storage and assembly purposes. Let's have an informal discussion on this topic (and how do we see the detector assembly process in general) among other AOB ones.

  Regards,
    Alexander.
