Hi,

Thanks for the comment.  Though the no. of man-hours doesn't change, the no. of hours in time (if we can truly use two drills simultaneously all the time) will hopefully cut in half, right ?

Please note that the use of two drills does not cut the required labor hours in half. There may be some economy gained by having two technicians able to provide mutual assistance to each other, but the required labor hours is still in the area of 579.

Hello Bill,

 

As I mentioned to you yesterday,  attached is a spreadsheet from Jon Hock that shows the technician hours needed to finish drilling holes in steel for sPhenix High-Field Test.  It does not include assembly hours for technicians, survey, etc…

 

After a couple modification (and timing observation), he came up with 579 hours for the remaining hours

of drilling and tapping.   ( For management type of people, you can add 25% contingency J )

 

Even with two drills at the same time, 579/2 ~290 hours is still a lot of hours remained to be done.  We need

all the help that we can get J
