sPHENIX discussion of the superconducting solenoid

Hi,

So, at the moment,

* I saw (eg. ~8 am today at 912) Paul Orfin and his colleagues are checking out the Cryo system to prepare for starting their compressor/plant and cool-down eventually. 
Roberto told me that people are working on the cooling tower.  They may start the compressor on Monday if all go well.

* We're still waiting for M. Lenz to finish making the bracket for the 2 linear-pot and then we can install them.

* At 1 pm today, we'll tighten the brackets together with the survey group.

If all go well, we can ask Carter/Frank to install the magnetic probes Monday afternoon.  And they'll close up the end-walls Tuesday/Wednesday.

Again if all go well, we can start cool-down next Thursday.

Yesterday, Jim Mills and I went to talk to Jon Sandberg about Pablo's testing schedule (which worries a bit).   Just several minutes ago, Jon told me that he's
given another tech or so to Pablo to speed him up so that hopefully he can come back to work on the power supply/cable testing soon.

One issue that people raised during the walkthrough on Nov. 20 was whether the helium that we release during our quench test may trigger the ODH alarm
such that the Nitrogen valve will be closed which would result in much longer recovery time.   I talked with Roberto and Peter Cirnigliaro about this 2 days
ago.  Apparently, the ODH alarm in Bldg. 912 are low and our (potential) small helium release is high and so they won't trigger any ODH alarm.  Peter will
sign off this item in the checkoff list (that he wrote and assigned himself for).
