Hi,
Not sure what kind of fun --- which I’ve learnt over the years to define it for myself, rather than by others --- people have in the X’mas morning, I have opened the laptop to check the cool-down temperature. I attach the HMI graphics as usual. The “MAGNET COILS” portion seems to fall below 180 K whereas the “MAGNET HEAT SHIELD” portion seem to be above 180 K, ~10 K above. The cool-down rate seems to below 0.5 K per hour especially for the “MAGNET HEAT SHIELD” portion. I wonder whether it’ll be cold enough tomorrow for the Cryo group to switch to the 5K helium from plant to cool.
I’m also wishing --- again I wish what I myself wish for --- that there will be somebody around tomorrow to finish the strain-gauge/linear-pot connections …. J
