Hello Chris,

I’ve checked the dimensions of 12” and 6.5” with my sources.

But you state that the diameter of  Valvebox Extension is 8.63” which makes me very curious.

From Paul Kovach’s drawings (according to which the Central shop made), I’ve found two drawings attached:

https://brookhavenlab.sharepoint.com/:u:/s/sPHENIXMagnet/External/EVxzUcHiXflLhuMzDBh1u-UBZVyUAg3XHHzNpBr8r6H8Wg?e=zSRqDQ

It’s 8” (46010011.pdf) and even in the flange adapter drawing, it’s 8.46” (46010214.pdf).   Where/how have you got this 8.63” ???

You measured it ???

Kin

Subject: Interface Sign off for End Cap PRR

Hi All

In preparing for the PRR for the End Caps the group came across an interface that we felt we needed to define and place into the Interface Control Document SP.SE.ICD.015 MAG/INF.  This email is intended to make you aware of such interfaces as well as get your sign off that you are aware of the interface and that we have made the proper provisions to accommodate that interface.

Description of interface: (See attached ppt slide)

The interface is between the End Caps and the Beam Pipe on the North and South end, as well as, the Valve box extension on the South End.  Attached is a ppt slide that shows the dimensions of the openings in the End Cap, and the dimensions of the objects coming through those openings.  The engineering/design team for the End Caps is confident they have allowed enough clearance for these interfaces.

The following is the list of people required to sign off:

PLEASE “REPLY ALL” WITH AN “APPROVED”

If you have any questions/comments please feel free to email the group.
