Minutes shift change 2023-04-15
evening: Oliver
- started monitoring EMCal North LV status, cooling, and sector temperature
night: Ejiro
- minor fault for MVTX DAQ1
- info from previous shift was to call Joel, couldn’t be reached, called
Cameron, turned off MVTX DAQ1 (gets turned off from control room), might be
false reading
- Cameron reported Counting House couldn’t be reached at x8000; put x7815,
x7821 on run web site
day: Virginia
- pretty quiet
- request from Tim to turn on LV for single sector in North
- monitoring EMCal N
- issues with DAQ for both HCal and EMCal
- don’t know why
- JH rebooted DCMs, went through without error messages, but nothing
happened (no lights)
- John thinks there might be interference between HCal and EMCal triggers
- also last night hang DAQ01 trying to use the DCM toolkit (not possible to
run together with GTM forced-accepts for detector data taking)
- steps needed after rebooting daq01: three steps in DAQ elog Martin’s
entry yesterday
MBD/ZDC (Mickey by email)
- Mickey
- still LOTOed out of HV rack
- Victor was here today, presumably to continue work in rack
- going to work tomorrow as planned
- JH: ZDC cables are being terminated in 1008B
HCal (Virginia)
- besides DAQ problems, were able to take cosmics for most of data today
- Dan R made improvements to scripts: more automated
- will ask shift crew to take data today
EMCal (John H, Dan L)
- temperatures look good, working on control to get internal T logged
- 1W1 should be all working now
TPOT
- no report
TPC (John K by email)
- South cooling worked well with two sectors on last night
- but no interlocks yet, so will leave sectors off for now
INTT (Joseph)
- resumed routine tests in North side, new issue: one sensor not getting
bias, disconnection in ROC, reconnected, now works (one bad left)
- updated bias monitoring
- moving to South side, DAQ commissioning
MVTX (no report)
- see chiller issue reported above
- fiber still missing
sEPD (no report)
DAQ
- see discussion under day shift report
Magnet (Kin)
- still problem with hipot test
- disconnected dog house, didn’t help, will disconnect water-cooled bus Monday
Gas/cooling water
- see TPC report
Plan of the day
- Shift crew monitor EMCal preamp cooling
- EMCal DCM and ADC commissioning
- INTT commissioning
- HCal cosmics data taking
