Commissioning and running of sPHENIX

For shift log entries, a screenshot is worth a thousand words. Tonight we made an entry with screenshots from three different shift computers. To make the entry, we had to collect these by signing into personal email on each computer and sending the screenshot PNG's as attachments from each computer and then signing out of those personal email accounts.

This method is not ideal, principally because it takes too much time, or at least it will when shifters time is more committed while taking collision data, etc... It is also not ideal for shifters who may forget to sign out of their personal email accounts. While unlikely to cause a problem -- sandboxed as they are by the browsers -- it is also probably not ideal from a security perspective to open personal email on the shift computers.

I think the best solution would be to add a folder to the online shift log and/or sPHENIX run page resources web page, where the shifter computers can all stay signed in and to which they can put screenshot clippings. A designated BNL dropbox account, or Google Doc folder, would serve the same purpose.
