Minutes shift change 2023-05-12
general
—————
- RICH schedule delayed by one day
- expect sweep later today
- first beam tonight: bias off for MVTX, INTT, EMCal
- first collisions Thursday morning (subject to change)
- Cameron: chiller panel has updated elogging info
- Kin: approval to operate: waiting for Mike Clancy, asked for ORE
document, Cindy sent him, ORE chair had to send another memo to Mike Clancy
- WCC (Chris): nothing
evening (Raghav)
- TPC air compressor failed last night, fixed this morning by Rob
- wasn’t obvious where to silence alarm, called Joel
night (Brennan)
- all quiet
Day (Ben)
- mostly quiet
- planned PLC update this morning unexpectedly crashed all racks
MBD (Mickey)
- nothing
HCAL (Virginia)
- Martin successfully ran last night
- today took data for long periods of time
- still issues where DAQ gets stuck or crashes
- 129,000 events
- other issue: connect to slow control: only one connection at a time
- interference between db and changing things
EMCal (Anthony)
- two issues
- one MPOD channel tripping with bias voltage: went away
- one IB in sector 20: cannot get to supply bias
- next time access: use Sean’s portable sector tester
- need techs (day shift)
TPOT (Hugo via email)
- There is nothing to report for TPOT operations
- Focusing on LV/HV monitoring and control for shift crew and experts, as
well as online monitoring.
TPC (Takao)
- HV cable problem was at rack-end connector: fixed
- holds 2,000V (awaits test with full voltage (4.5 kV) once we have
operating gas in detector)
- readout: Jin took noise data, had TPC meeting an hour ago, Tom suggested
whether pulsing caused noisy events
- will investigate tomorrow
INTT (Itaru)
- continuing work on RC_DAQ
MVTX (Cameron)
- mainframe problem fixed by switching to two-phase power (220 V) instead of
phase-neutral (110 V)
- problem must be in neutral line
- turned on entirety of MVTX
- checked temperature:
- will turn off at end of day for beam
sEPD nothing
DAQ (Martin)
- first event corrupt problem didn’t occur last night
- GL1 and GTM had priority, confirmed that LL1 working as advertised
- expectation: won’t need LL1 lemo cable, will use fiber
- John H: DAQ fest starting Monday
- goal: all detectors running together (GTM global mode) from trigger
generated in GL1
Trigger (Jamie)
- MBD can provide trigger: Dan/Mickey
- cosmic trigger: all trigger boards are in back of ADC crate for HCAl
- test next week: Dan, Joey
- Chi will do firmware change
- single hit trigger run intermittently
- entire HCal in one board for cosmic trigger
- half of iHCal and half of oHCal in one board: jet trigger (so that energy
can immediately be summed)
- could be ready in a couple weeks
ZDC
- checked coincidences
- with Eric: fiber connected to rack room
background counters
- Sal working on power supplies
- should finish with panel next week
- have what we need
- then go tunnel
- Damon finished signal cables in tunnel
