sPHENIX discussion of software

Hi folks,

just to make it official - there is no software meeting today.
There was some progress and some problems for the mdc.
The good news is that Tony sped up the tpc sims, so they now should 
succeed within their time limit (the first 250 were done within 12 
hours). I'll start the tracking pass on them soon.

The old tpc sims (and tracking of them) are still available for crosschecks.

Dennis's pythia8 implementation was checked in and 10M MB events were 
produced in HepMC format. Jin dug out the vertex distribution and rates 
from our bup.

central hijing g4 sims are ongoing 655000 events so far.

The problem is dCache - the new version rcf installed doesn't work (many 
files don't show up with find or ls which throws a monkey wrench into 
the scripts). We are back using the PHENIX dCache which does this right 
but has marginal throughput.
