I’ve updated the document to include the cable specs I’ve received from KC Electronics. There are some differences in dimensions between the two.

Elke,

 

The quote and spec sheet on pages 1, 2, and 3 go together – this is a quote for the cable only, no parts or assembly. This is the quote I got through AlphaWire, and it comes out to $9.20/ft. We would still need to buy connector parts, and assemble the cable, or hire someone to do this work.

 

The second quote from KC Electronics on Page 4 has no spec sheet associated with it, and it is a quote for the cable, parts, assembly, and testing. This quote is from KC Electronics, and it comes out to $5.59/ft if you are looking to compare cost of the cable itself.

sorry, but the total cost is not clear to me is one quote only cable and no assembly and the other a quote for the full deal or do I have to add both.

I’ve uploaded a copy of the received quotes here. The AlphaWire spec sheet applies ONLY to the quote supplied by Allied Electronics on pages 1 and 2. Page 4 lists a quote from KC Electronics, this quote includes assembly and point-to-point testing of the cable (Terminating the cable into the D-Sub connector, required housings, Backshells, pins, etc.) with a cost breakdown. I am waiting for a supplied spec sheet from him.
