Hi Zhenyu,

Regarding the "5) Will do electrical tests after the connector is soldered onto the hybrid. Zhenyu recommends to do it after plugging and unplugging the male connectors to make sure the soldering is robust. Yi is not sure if he has male connectors. Maowu will check if SDU has male connectors and if so send to Yi"

Two sets of hybrids are passed the electrical tests today.
Jianing confirmed that I did send all my male connectors to her before and she is going to send 2 connectors to me today.
However, it might take several days to weeks to receive them (I am not 100% sure whether we will have to wait for 14 days to receive the package from China now). And we are planning to mount the connector on the MS in the end of this week.

So, I would propose to skip the plugging and unplugging test for these prototypes since I think you want to test the inner sensor asap. What do you think?

Cheers,
Yi

1. Follow-up on action items from previous weeks
1) Integration: send an email with detailed questions to the list to collect information - Rahul/Felix
2) Document the procedure and requirements of gluing hybrids onto MS for Plan A at NTU - Yi/Han-Sheng
-> the procedure is almost determined. will have the document ready next week
3) Look into radiation tolerance test of soft cooling tubes at STAR/Taiwan - Flemming/Yi
-> tubes are being exposed to radiation. The total doses would be 1x and 5x of the ones in the proposal. Will repeat the measurement with NOVEC at NCKU after radiation.
4) Measuring hybrid flatness, thickness and dimensions - Maowu/Jianing
-> see below
5)) UIC send a T-board and cable to NCKU to check if there is any conflict with the MS - Zhenyu
6) Looking into alternative clustering algorithm to improve matching efficiency - Xu
7) Tune the timing setting for ADC sampling - Gerard/Xu
-> see below
8) Studying the tracking performance by varying the Z-locations of FST disks, and number of r/phi segments - Daniel/Krishan
-> see below
9) Looking into FST simulation and track reconstruction to compare 300 vs 500 micron thick sensors - Shenghui

2. Integration - Felix
Working on changing the Z-locations of FST disks

3. Simulation - Krishan
Has obtained momentum resolution, but it is different than Daniel’s. Will check with Daniel. Have results for different numbers of r- and phi-segments.

4. Hybrid - Maowu
1) Measured the flatness of two sets of hybrids (1 from old and 1 from new vendor). The maximum deviation of thickness is less than 18 (7) microns for old (new) vendor.
2) Measured relative positions of bonding pads w.r.t. the center of VIA-A, which would be used as one of the two reference points on the hybrid when gluing the hybrid onto the mechanical structure. The shifts from the design in the direction perpendicular to wire-bond are between (+20, +60) microns.
* Action item - Maowu: add the absolute differences in the excel file. Find out the design value of the distance between the two reference VIAs on the hybrids.
* Action item - question for Yi: There are two VIAs that would be used as reference points on the hybrid when gluing the hybrid onto the mechanical structure. The rotation is determined by the line connecting the centers of the two vias. Which point will be used to determine the position of the hybrid?

5. Prototype module test - Xu
Has found and used the code to tune the setting for ADC timing for FST. Will check with Gerard about the results

Mechanical structure - Yi
1) glued one hybrid onto MS. Good in general by eye. There are a few places that need to improve. Will try to address them and start gluing hybrids onto a good MS this Thursday/Friday, and glue the inner/outer sections together.
2) Will measure the distance between the centers of the two reference VIAs on the hybrid and compare to the design values from Maowu. Will measure the relative positions of the two reference VIAs w.r.t. pins in the MS.
4) Will measure the surface flatness of the MS before and after gluing the hybrids
5) Will do electrical tests after the connector is soldered onto the hybrid. Zhenyu recommends to do it after plugging and unplugging the male connectors to make sure the soldering is robust. Yi is not sure if he has male connectors. Maowu will check if SDU has male connectors and if so send to Yi
