Dear Yi, Zhenyu,
I think if we must order the outer hybrids within days to hold the schedule, we should go ahead. There is no prospect of coming to a conclusion in the next few days that anything about the hybrids is causing our noise anomaly, and I doubt there is anything really wrong with them anyway.
I didn't yet review the latest hybrid gerbers, maybe Mike did? I think one of us at least should have a quick look, though the change was very small. I'll try to do today.

About the dimensions needed for the T-board design revision: Please see attached sketch which is on your outer wedge drawing in appendix C. The four holes for mounting the T-board are points 1, 2, 3, 4, I added a point X which is the center of the connector of the outer hybrid when laying flat (or when laying at the correct height as mated to T-board if that isn't flat, though if I understand right, laying flat is it).
We *need* a statement (drawing I hope) of the nominal dimension from say points 3, 4 horizontally to point X, and the tolerance applied to this dimension.
We should also understand the tolerances on the locations of points 1, 2, 3, 4, and the type/size of fasteners that will be used.
Without this info I think it is impossible to finish the T-board design, or anyway impossible to review it.
I hope this clarifies, thanks,

Gerard

p.s. I suppose that you need to check actual location of connector on outer hybrid on all assemblies, probably with some simple inspection jig, and that this acceptance test has to be noted on the QA/traveller amongst the many other that you will do.

Dear Gerard,

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply. According to the schedule from SDU, it will take at least 4 weeks to finish the production and few days to test and ship to NCKU. So it would be great to place the order in these few days.

The dimensions can be found in Appendix C of the document: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.dropbox.com/s/cndffu9ybv8zkyu/Mechanical_Structure_for_FST_at_STAR_v2.pdf?dl=0__;!!P4SdNyxKAPE!Une75WQiT8vOtecx8FEG2DCudf7WwyZhLw51uVkQyZ5U-PwVhR4zpOfCoWTuJP4K62cv-DE$
Cheers,

Dear Yi,
I don't know of any reason why the T-board changes would require
any change to
the hybrids. (I guess it would be possible to modify connector location
on the
outer hybrid if there was a problem to accomodate the T-board mounting
with the
present location of the connector. But this doesn't seem to appropriate
unless
there is a conflicting requirement I haven't heard of.)
I also don't know of any other issues requiring changes to the
hybrids.
When do the hybrids have to be ordered to keep the schedule? (I
am
asking since
there are still these questions about noise oddities, though I doubt they
indicate any problem with the hybrid. Still, we're not done understanding
the
issues and can't really rule out any mitigating change to make on the
hybrids.)
These are my opinions anyway. Zhenyu, Mike?
        Sincerely,

                Gerard

p.s. I think to finish the T-board design, some dimensional info is
needed as I
tried to explain.
