hi Mike,
In _most_ circumstances I would agree. But for this case, we need an IR measurement I think. Most thermal cameras nowadays have a target crosshair and numerical measurement in the image. We don't need high accuracy, we just want to tell the APV chip temperatures to +/-5 deg C or so, I think, and see how the various chips compare (expect all quite the same, I believe +/-2 deg). It should be trivial, as long as someone can borrow a decent modern thermal camera.

Hey everyone,
A suggestion for temperature monitoring - We've used in the past a standalone
temperature monitoring box (

)- you can put up to 16 sensors on it and monitor them via a web page
hosted by the box. I have one that will be needed when we start running - but
it's not yet in use. I can bring it down for use with FST until then, or
order a second unit if we want continued use. They're relatively inexpensive
at ~$150.
The temp sensors are just a TO-92 package with a molded boot - they can
probably be taped down to the APV chips themselves with heat transfer
mounting tape. (ex.

Hi Flemming
Clips suggested by Gerard:
https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/littelfuse/01220087z/?qs=w4dvuIu98YnZE2lfMuQ4ow*3D*3D&countrycode=US¤cycode=USD__;JSU!!P4SdNyxKAPE!UXBbhWMiYpqwLr34j3yGwDMPiRX-LpbpsBXd76u_Xn3lcFdtaINyhrnqTiTbVj0XE06Tkjs$
As pointed out also by Gerard, the temp sensors on the hybrids do not reflect
the actual temperatures of the APVs.
Will you be able to get a thermal camera to measure the temperature of the
APVs more directly?

Hi all,
The cooling test is performed seperately for the integration test as
discussed a long time ago.
Te IST/FST cooling system is currently setup in the assembly building. The
plan is after the integration test to bring the dark box to the assembly
building on a chart at the cooling unit.
It will be connected to the cooling unit manifolds
Rahul/Bill will check if we have longer ~5 ft cooling tubes available for
this. Will order if not available right now.
Xu make us aware that the one cooling connector is very close to the edge of
the holding box.
Hopefully the tubes ar flexible enough to connect.
The cooling tubes must be grounded as pointed out several times.Yi do you
have the information on clips that are suitable?
The control of the wedge/module will be made via the (a) long grey cable +PPB
and the MPOD crate + computer should be setup in the Assembly building. As
the cabl is long there is lost of flexibility where to put this.
It should be possible to run this w/o needing connection to the local network.
Prithwich and Yu should confirm this with a lab test before setting up in the
hall.
The local temp from the APV should be readout and recorded.
Rahul will like to complete the test in the next two weeks, so the
cooling unit can be installed on the North platform lower level before
closseout.
best Flemming
