Let me chime in too.

The number of times that cable are connected/disconnected has to be minimized.
Of course for the production it has to be done 2 (3) times - for the apv testing and after inner /outer
sensors mounting. So why not have one 'special box (w/o walls) for holding a modules during this mounting, and testing, and put it back in regular transport box for moving back/forth techs and storage.
I think this will reduce the overall risks.

hi Shengui,
That doesn't look like the same tool. ??
But, would it anyway have fit if you came at it from the other
side (i.e. on the right in this picture?).
I would repeat my concern that unplugging of the hybrids from T
board without some way to apply the force directly to the connector
body, is a very high risk. If we can avoid ever doing that to a
production hybrid that would be much better. I think it is certainly
worth a few days delay to resolve this. (My opinion anyway.)
Sincerely,

Gerard

Hi Mike and all,

I tried to use the new way to do unplugging of production hybrids and
found the tool couldn't fit in the storage box shown at the
attachment. So, I think that we couldn't use the new way during the
module assembly.

Best,
Shenghui

Dear Mike, All,

indeed awesome find, I agree with Gerard, let's buy them for all
places we do any plugging/unplugging of production hybrids.

Cheers elke

Hi Mike - wow - awesome!
This is an extremely good find, for reducing what I think is one of
the highest risk areas in FST.
I would strongly suggest that those doing any
plugging/unplugging of production hybrids anywhere, stop work until
they procure this exact tool. It will be worth any delay that
incurs. Of course, not my decision, only recommending here.
I am attaching here your two photographs so others on list can see.

Thanks, sincerely,

Gerard

Hey guys,

Hope all is well.

Had a thought pop into my head while I was staring at the half
ring assembly, thought I’d share…

These snap ring pliers fit perfectly into the 2mm holes in the
hybrid side Nicomatic connectors. They provide enough grip to easily
un-mate the connectors, inserting the pliers as shown. The same goes
for the outer. It has enough friction to gently wiggle the connector
free.
