Hi Rongrong,

I'm fine with not showing PHENIX on the double ratio, indeed error propagation is not obvious.
After a bit of thinking I see your point regarding the PHENIX point.
Let's then keep the plots as they are.

Cheers,
Barbara

Hello Barbara

My recollection is that it does not really make sense to show the double ratio for a pp measurement since it is by definition should be at unity. Of course, the PHENIX data point is not at unity since other data points were also used to determine the pp baseline. Nevertheless, it is still strange to see a pp data point in the double ratio figure. Furthermore, the propagation of the error bar is not trivial.

For the J/psi to Psi(2S) ratio plot (slide 11), the motivation to show the PHENIX data point is to illustrate that we need to use several data points at different energies to determine the pp reference, since the PHENIX measurement has a large error bar. Otherwise, it would be ideal to use PHENIX measurement as the reference since it is also at 200 GeV.

Hi Yan,

thanks for the updates slides.
I think the PHENIX point should be removed from the ratio on slide 11 rather that from the double ratio - that was the original proposal. Also, on plots on slides 12 ans 13, please specify what the gray band around 1 is - if someone doesn't see the plot on slide 11 it's not clear how the uncertainty on pp comes from

Hi Yan,

The updated version is good to me. Do you know when you will have the updated polarization plot?

Cheers,

Hi Yan,

Thanks a lot for the updated version. I only have some very minor comments for your consideration.
 - p2: dissociation --> Dissociation
 - p4: An extra space in front of "10-20 times"?
 - p10: pol --> polynomial function  (since you have space)
 - p12: Remove the legend for "PHENIX pp, xxx"
 - p13: Remove the legend for "PHENIX pp, xxx"
 - p13: "Centrality dependence trend seems be similar to that at SPS than at LHC" --> "Centrality dependence trend seems be more similar to that at SPS than at LHC"
 - p21: statistic --> statistics

Cheers,
Yi

Dear Yan
I copied a comment from the google doc for your presentation
on J/psi RAA energy dependence including SPS and LHC shown
in the rehearsal today.
Best regards, ShinIchi

S7: Legend missing for 62GeV
Why is it red for 54GeV? (add “preliminary”)
      17.3, 200, 5020 -> 17.3, 2760, 5020 GeV for Pb+Pb

Hi Yan,

very nice slides.
I propose to use a log scale for the x-axis on the right plot on slide 5 - energy dependence of J/psi RAA vs Npart.
It should be easier to distinguish low Npart points, as for the colliding system scan on slide 8.
I also suggest to highlight in some color bullet points with important physics messages, that we want to highlight.

Cheers,
Barbara

Hi Yan,

Thanks a lot for the nice slides. I have some comments on v3 for your consideration.
 - General: I would replace all "isobar" or "isobaric" to "Zr+Zr & Ru+Ru".
 - p4: I remember we used 4B isobar data before, right?
 - p7: Please indicate BHT2 is the new result for QM
 - p11: I don't think that we can say "Centrality dependence trend seems be closer to that at SPS than at LHC" with current statistics. Should we just say "They have similar centrality dependence"?
 - p12: Second bullet, can you calculate the significance? It looks like a 2-3 sigma effect...
 - p13: It would be good to show the Upsilon mass spectra from isobar data here.
 - p14 -15: I would move J/psi polarization before the Upsilon results. I understand you want to separate them by physics topic, so it is up to you.
 - p16: The ordering should be the same in your presentation, first talk about the J/psi in BES-II, then results from isobar.
 - p17: run23-25 --> run 23-25

Cheers,
Yi
