Thanks Andy. Please see my reply below.
>>Slide 2: This is the total cost _after_ BCP 069?
Yes, it's after BCP 069.
>>Why BNL_P_3_AP2 BNL Professional 3 so high in FY24?
More efforts are needed in FY24, since FEB2 Pre-production and production
start in FY24, the test stand will be developed, integrated and FEB2 will be
tested. sRTM test will be performed to prepare for FDR and PRR.
>>What is BCP 075 for?
BCP 075 will add resources, from LAr positive cost variances, for FEB2 and
sRTM test stand development. It will fix some bugs from previous COVID BCP.
I will add a slide to backup.
>>Slide 3: What is the effect on this WBS from the COVID BCP?
Resources have been added to reduce the effect of low efficiency caused by
COVID.
>>The BE crate setup will be built at CERN, but by who? BNL still?
I don't know who will be responsible for building the test setup at CERN. BNL
will only participate in the BEC test.
>>The BOE still says "The backend test stand will be built to perform the
>>integration test of the BE electronics...".
>>Has the BOE just not been updated??
>>I still don't know what BCP 075 will do.
Only BEC test is eliminated. We still need to build test setup to validate
sRTM, and LASP-sRTM full readout chain. So this is kept in the BOE.
>>Slide 5: The first table is too fuzzy to read.
>>That fuzzy table seems to include 17k for "software", but isn't that
>>already in the second table? What is the software?
It's ~$24k for license fee each year, as listed in the second table. The cost
is spread to all tasks.
>>For the BOE:
>>I don't understand why it talks about "test board manufacturing costs". The
>>slides indicate that we're just buying dev boards.
>>Are we building any boards in this WBS??
Yes, we still build boards for test stand construction. For example, we share
development with TDAQ to use GCM/GRM for LASP/sRTM test and FELIX for FEB2
readout.
We build Calibration Distribution Board ( and Flex cable) /Calibration test
board for FEB2 signal injection, when official calibration board is not
available.
>>Since the majority of the cost of this WBS is labor, and it's based on
>>phase I (and earlier) experience, could we not have an attachment detailing

We have a drilldown example to explain the estimate of FEB2 production test
procedures based on FEB test, which was used for CD1 review. I can post it in
the BOE if needed.
In Omega group, we share people among different projects. For this WBS, it
needs effort on hardware/firmware/software development, so we have different
people work on different parts. It's organized by group leader Michael Begel.

Hao

Here are my comments on Hao's slides and BOE.
Slide 2: This is the total cost _after_ BCP 069?
Why BNL_P_3_AP2 BNL Professional 3 so high in FY24?
What is BCP 075 for?
Slide 3: What is the effect on this WBS from the COVID BCP?
The BE crate setup will be built at CERN, but by who? BNL still? The BOE
still says "The backend test stand will be built to perform the integration
test of the BE electronics...".
Has the BOE just not been updated??
I still don't know what BCP 075 will do.
Slide 5: The first table is too fuzzy to read.
That fuzzy table seems to include 17k for "software", but isn't that already
in the second table? What is the software?
For the BOE:
I don't understand why it talks about "test board manufacturing costs". The
slides indicate that we're just buying dev boards. Are we building any boards
in this WBS??
Since the majority of the cost of this WBS is labor, and it's based on phase
I (and earlier) experience, could we not have an attachment detailing the
phase I labor? In general, it's not very clear exactly what each person is
working on and when for this WBS.
