All,

See attached for quotes for V3 T-Board turnkey assembly (One quote
from RCE, another from East End Assemblies, a third from Sierra
Circuits), as well as a quote for purple cable assembly and soldering
to the t-boards.

East End is the cheaper of the three PCB vendors.

A side note, I have yet to place the order for the Nicomatic
connectors, I'm awaiting a corrected quote from the vendor.

Flemming,

Understood, no problem.

I'll wait for Gerard to let me know about how many total units we
expect to need, unless you have a number in mind.

Hi Mike,

I suggest you get quotes for the two mentioned activities. Originally
SDU is scheduled to do part of this but if the fab of the PCBs are not
too expensive it might be more effecient if we do this from here.

Q1: I have the d-sub housing and the male pins in my lab. I did not
order any backshells, these are a stock item, let me know if I should
place an order for these.

Q2: Yes, we ordered 1,000ft of the purple cable, it is in my lab as
well.

Q3: I would suggest that whoever procures the bare PCB also handles
assembly. The assembly vendors all have different requirements for the
dimensions of the panelized boards to fit their pick and place/ovens
etc. If you'd like I can get some quotes for PCB + Assembly + Parts
kit locally.

Q4: For the test run of 10 units, I ordered the V3 T-Boards turn-key
from Sierra Circuits (A vendor out of California, I wouldn't use them
for production as they'll likely be more expensive than local assembly
houses). KC Electronics assembled the d-sub connector and soldered the
cable to the board.

I can get a new quote and time estimate for the assembly of the
cables, and soldering these to the T-Board. Last I spoke with a vendor
rep about PCB assembly, he suggested that KC would be cheaper to
solder wires to the t-board, as they're better equipped for that kind
of work.

Gerard - You mentioned we may want to have various lengths and spares
in each length. Do you have any idea how many total t-boards and cable
assemblies we would want to have assembled? Lengths shouldn't matter
for quoting purposes I'd imagine.

Hi Mike, Zhenyu, Yi.

I am trying to understand our production of t-boards, and cable
assembly what work is needed where, as preparing for the schedule

Please see Question in the following, and answer to me (not nesc. on
list) Inline is fine.

Summary of purple cable work and purchases

We have quotes for the Nicomatic connectors as from May 28.
T-Board: A22-2-T-34-V22 in qty: 80
Hybrid: A22-1-T-34-V16 in qty: 110 2630$ and 3090$
To be send to Taiwan

Connectors for the other end (patch panel) D-sub. Q1: Do we have
these?

Purple cable itself. I recall we purchased 1000 ft, which should be
enough. Q2: Mike please confirm

T-boards Q3: When are where are these produced? China? Time estimate?

-> The plan is SDU would provide all the T-boards (and hybrids).
Jianing/Maowu/Li should confirm and comment on the time.

Assembly of T-boards with components? Where? Time estimate?

-> Assembly for prototypes were taken care of by BNL. We did not
explicitly discuss assembly for production. It makes sense to do the
same as the prototype (i.e. by BNL). But I guess the work can also be
done by SDU if they agree.

Assembly of T-board with cables at BNL.
Q4: Need an estimate for this . Mike Please?
