Early warning: I've been told 'BNL account for writers' is too high a bar...

My answers, others are free to correct...- all open issue tracking info. No CRADAs etc.- posters will be fewer in numbers than readers. Everyone should be able to read tickets reasonably easily; for writers, the threshold could be higher, e.g. having a BNL account- my guess for writers over the next year or two: several dozen. Readers: hundreds if it catches on as we'd hope it would.- I don't think submitting JIRA comments or other input by email is a requirement. Maybe I'm wrong on that though; those hundreds of readers may want to inject comments, and an email mechanism to do so could perhaps help keep the number of writer licenses down.CERN has some sort of site license; there, truly everyone has full access.TorreOn Thu, May 7, 2020 at 3:18 PM Jerome LAURET via Eic-bnl-comp-l <eic-bnl-comp-l AT lists.bnl.gov> wrote:
We need to understand the usage for the EIC first as, as
you know, JIRA is license based. Here are a few questions:
- what is the usage scope for the EIC?
Is this for a general general "issue tracking" / "project tracking"
or could contain information not suitable for general view [i.e
CRADA etc ...] ??
- is the EIC users fine with a non-pubic interface?
- how many users would want to use it? [each user a license]
if we say any user in the EIC (1,000) cost will be large
[there may be a possibility for a "guest" access TBC]
but also how to request a Jira account a mini-challenge
(currently not connected to an IDP/SSO - looking into this)
- do people in the EIC desire Email interactions? [i.e.
answer Email -> end as a comment]
Those are the first questions.
Thanks.
