Hi Sooraj,

Ah, I see what you mean now. I initially misunderstood this comment. I have updated the slides for version 6: https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/HardProbes2024_BaryonToMesonInJet_v6.pdf

The only difference between v6 and v5 is that I added a label stating "(uncorrected)" to the plots on slides 13 & 15.

Thanks,

Gabe

Hi Gabe,

Hi Sooraj,

Thank you for your comments. I have implemented the requested changes in version 5 of my slides: https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/HardProbes2024_BaryonToMesonInJet_v5.pdf

Please find detailed responses to your comments below.

Sincerely,

Gabe

S2: Do you want to show the lower bullets also in the order as you show the slides?

This is a good point. I have updated the slides so that the bullet points appear as I talk about them

S5: You dont answer how QGP hadronizes from your study, right?

I had included this more as a guiding broader question that this study fits into. You are correct that I do not directly answer it in the talk, so I have removed this point

S9: Could indicated the PID purities here

We do not perform track-by-track PID, but rather an ensemble average measurement. So the concept of “purity” in PID doesn’t necessarily apply here. We essentially have 100% purity for all particle species. The only exception would be our ToF cut for protons, but we only use this cut at low pT, where we can ensure that the proton yield has near 100% purity.

S12: y-axis label should say raw, dn --> dn_{track}?

Changed to dn_{track} for clarity here. I only use the “raw” terminology with respect to jet pT, as a clarification that we do not do jet energy scale corrections, so I hesistate to use “raw” at the track-level.

S12: What are the vertical arrows on the right for?

These are a cartoon-style legend I use to discuss the constituent pT minimum. I will mention this verbally in the talk. Essentially a scaled-up version of the arrow cartoon I use on the left side of the slide when describing embedding. This cartoon is more useful when I compare pTconst > 3 and ptConst > 2, as I can move the horizontal line to indicate the minimum. The three arrows are meant to represent tracks in each of the three pT bins I report on the slide. This is useful when discussing that the correlated background is at it’s maximum directly above the pTconst minimum.

S14: Are the combinatorial and matched distributions after scaling to the Au+Au spectra?

Yes. I considered showing these distributions before and after scaling, but decided to cut this step from the talk in the interest of time. The talk is already pushing the time limit as is.

S15,16: Why not add a bullet comparing inclusive and in-jet ratios?

I use the first bullet point “strong preference for pi over p production” to discuss this comparison in the talk. I also have a more explicit bullet point on my summary slide to return to the comparison between in-jet and inclusive hadron measurements at the end of the talk.

S23: last bullet text is overlapping

Good catch. Deteled the footer on this slide to resolve this issue.

S28: y-axis should be labelled raw

Added this label for all instances of the spectra template fit

Hello Gabe,

Thank you for working on some comments and improving your slides.
I have one suggestion on Slide#17,19 figure, where you compare R=0.2 and
0.3, 0.4 results for pp.
You are now using blue band for R=0.2 where you used data points with
box in slide15.

Can you please make plotting style the same without changing it to band?
You can make it different colour and marker style for R=0.2, 0.3, and
0.4 while comparing. Otherwise, it looks like you can comparing some
theory calculation just at a glance.

I am going to push it to startalk. But in the mean time please make your
plots consistent.

Best
Nihar
